John J. Stoops, 78, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center.
Born on February 17, 1947, to the late Wayne and Mary Anne (Abercrombie) Stoops in Connersville, IN.
On February 2, 1974, he married the love of his life, Beverly “Bunny” Culberg.
He and Bunny raised their family in Skokie, IL and moved to Kenosha in 2004. John loved spending time with family and working in his woodshop where he made beautiful Name Puzzle Stools for children.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Bunny; children, Amanda (Shane) Steele and Brian Stoops; grandchildren, Lily, Max and Jack Steele, and Ari and Grant Stoops (mother, Amy LaMere); brother Ken Stoops; and sister-in-law, Randye VanOsdol.
Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jimmy VanOsdol.

A private interment will be held at Greenridge Cemetery at a later date.
