John George Hodnik, 93, of Kenosha, WI, formerly of Waukegan, Il, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Parkside Manor.
Born on April 20, 1932, in Waukegan, IL, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Hart) Hodnik.
John dedicated many years to caring for and maintaining private apartment communities, taking pride in his hard work and attention to detail. After a long and fulfilling career, he retired at the remarkable age of 85. In his free time, John never missed a chance to spend time on the golf course, where he proudly achieved not just one, but two holes-in-one during his years of play. He also loved cheering on his beloved Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. John was a proud and longtime member of the Waukegan Lodge #706, Loyal Order of the Moose.
John is survived by his loving daughter, Debbie (Bill) Szostak of Fox Lake, IL; three grandchildren, Brandi (Ed) Myslewiec, Shari (Brian) Green, and John (Katie) Szostak; six great-grandchildren, Griffin, Alex, Hannah, Kylie, Logan, and Channing; and one brother, Edward (Judy) Hodnik.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, John and Joseph Hodnik; one sister, Dorothy; and one brother, Michael.
Private services were held per John’s wishes.
