Joel H. Freitag, 85, formerly of Kenosha, late of Necedah, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025.
He was born on September 10, 1939, to the late Herman and Esther (Fechner) Freitag in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
Joel entered the US Army on February 24, 1958, and was honorably discharged on February 23, 1964.
On September 9, 1961, he married Ruby Hileman at the United Methodist Church in Kenosha. She preceded him in death on December 27, 1995. He married Shirley Ward, and she preceded him in death.
Joel worked as a supervisor for Laddish Tri Clover for many years.
Joel attended Kenosha Bible Church.
Joel loved fishing on Lake Michigan, enjoyed basketball, and was a Packers, Brewers, and Badgers fan. Joel was devout with his religion and lived life to the fullest.
Joel is survived by his sons Daniel Freitag, James Freitag, and Robert Thomas (Dagmar) Freitag, his grandchildren Matthew, Sarah (Jesse), Adam (Teresa) Tiffany (Matthew). Katelyn (Ethan) and Emilie, his great-grandchildren, Logan, Mason, and Abel, and his sister Nadine Gerou.
He is preceded in death by a son, Douglas Scott, and a great-grandson, Noah.
Funeral Services for Joel will be held on Saturday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
