Joanne Elizabeth (Winters) Carbone, lifelong resident of Kenosha, WI. Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 15, 2025.
She was born on September 23, 1932. Daughter of late Marion (Rutkowski) and Nicholas Winters. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford in 1950.
On November 14, 1953, Joanne was united in marriage to Frank Carbone Jr. at St. Casimir’s Church in Kenosha. They were blessed with 61years of marriage before Frank preceded her in death in 2014.
Joanne is survived by her loving son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Lori (Moore). She was a cherished grandmother of Nicole Belcher (Ryan), Alyssa Scarbrough (Deion), Justin (Jackie), and Sierra. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Landon, Levi, Jaida, Aria, Jaxon, Jett, Alana, and Hendrix
Art and music were Joanne’s lifelong passions. She excelled in three primary media:-oil, acrylic, and watercolor- and participated in many artist shows, with her artwork proudly displayed in local restaurants. Joanne enjoyed sharing her talents with others and taught fabric painting at Michaels for several years. She also created a video instruction segment on Time-Warner Cable. Though she loved teaching, she never stopped learning and continuously challenged herself to explore new techniques.
Joanne was deeply involved in her community, volunteered with R.S.V.P., and participated in many of their events. She was active in the Kenosha Senior Chorus along with Frank. And was a proud member of the Red Hats Society, where she later became the beloved “QUEEN” of the K-Town RedHat D.O.L.L.S.
Joanne is survived by her sisters, Joy Lowth, Jacklyn Thomas (Bill), and her brothers Walt, John (Sue). Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jeanette Potthast and Jeanne Baril; brothers-in-law, Robert Carbone, Cliff Baril, Bill Lowth, sister in-laws June Carbone, Jean Carbone, and Kaye Winters.
Above all, Joanne will be remembered for her creativity, love for her family, and joyful spirit. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched.
