Jean Marie Jakubowski, 92 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI.
She was born July 16, 1932, in Kenosha, WI, the daughter of the late Floyd and Eva (Wilcox) Bienemann and graduated from Kenosha Bradford High School. On May 8, 1954, she married LeRoy S. Jakubowski at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Jean loved square dancing; she and LeRoy were officers of the Circle and Star Square Dancing Club. Jean also spent several years as a den mother for Cub Scouts. She loved all of her dogs, and enjoyed researching her family genealogy. She kept her mind sharp by solving word puzzles. Family was everything to her and her door was always open to everyone; Jean was a remarkable lady and she will be missed by so many that loved her dearly.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Kathy Jakubowski; grandchildren, Steven (Sherri) LaFever, Marty (Lisa) Jakubowski, Nick (Kym) Jakubowski, Danny (Amy) Jakubowski, Kristina (David) Warner, Katie (Robbie) Berg, Linda Jakubowski, and Daniel McBride; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Haley, Chance, Jaxson, Nicholas Jr., Samantha, Chase, Brayden, Alayna, Makayla, Makenziee, Makaden, Makaylee, Makaylynn, Makyler, Makatelynn, Makayjah, Makamryn, Makijah, Emily, Sergio (Heather), Samaria, Seth, Siannah, Lawrence, Erik, and Anthony; and great-great-grandson, Sergio Jr.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her children, Martin Jakubowski Sr., Michael Jakubowski, and Mark Jakubowski; siblings, Gordon Wilcott, Geraldine Bouldin, Dennis Wilcott, and Elizabeth Hellman; grandson, John LaFever; and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Jakubowski.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home with funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.
