James Richard “Jim” Mirek, 80, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
Born on January 2, 1945, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Victor and Catherine (Stewart) Mirek. They moved to Antioch, IL, in 1959. He was a graduate of Antioch High School.
He served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged.
On November 11, 1967, he married the love of his life, Nancy Carlson.
Jim owned and operated a motorcycle accessory distributor and later Sunrise Office Supply in Antioch, IL. After selling his business, he worked as a realtor in the area.
He and Nancy later moved to Wheatland, WI, where they owned 200 acres and many beloved animals, which included two donkeys, Elvis and Jezabel. They loved collecting clocks and spending time outdoors, just enjoying nature.
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Mirek of Kenosha, WI; two sisters, Judy (Thomas) Anderson of Kenosha, WI, and Linda (Jim) Johnson of Romona, CA; and many special nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Steven Matthews.
Private family services were held.
