Henry “Hank” O. Saarnio, 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Avina on 32ndStreet, Kenosha.
He was born on December 29, 1937, to the late Anikki Teras in Helsinki, Finland. He was in the schools of Finland.
On May 11, 1963, he married Donna Lippert at St. Therese Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2013.
Hank worked as a cement finisher with Camosy Construction and Falduto Construction, and ended his career with Boller Construction. He was a member of Cement Masons Local 11.
Hank enjoyed fishing, hunting, going up north to the family cabin, going out for coffee at Danny’s with his friends, wintering in Florida, and home improvement projects for family and friends.
Hank is survived by his sons, Tim (Debbie DeBree) Saarnio, and Ted Saarnio, his grandchildren, Brittany (Danny), Tony (Jill), Tanner, and Tia (Mike), his great-grandchildren, Madeline, Carson, Henry, Brayson, and Jackson, and a family friend, Barb Backhaus.
A Private Celebration of Life for Hank will be held at a later date this summer.
