Geraldine “Gerri” Erickson, age 79, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. She was born on April 22, 1946, in Barron, WI, the daughter of the late George and Bertha (Rhodes) Zimmerman.
On December 19, 1964, Gerri married the love of her life, Larry Erickson, at the Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas. Their love story began when they met in Barron, WI, while Larry was on leave from the Air Force, and they built a beautiful life together, raising two sons, Doug and Christopher. Gerri was incredibly proud of her family, especially her only grandson, Jackson.
Gerri was known for her warmth and kindness, always making everyone feel welcome in her home. Whether it was sharing a conversation or a laugh, she had a unique ability to make people feel special. She was a wonderful listener and loved to chat, a trait that endeared her to everyone she met.
She worked as a manager at ShopKo and later as an office administrator for Carthage College and UW-Parkside before retiring to spend more time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Larry; her son, Christopher (Julie Lemke) Erickson of Edgerton, WI; and her cherished grandson, Jackson (Erin Rajkovich) Erickson of Ridgeland, SC. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Erickson.
Gerri was not just a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; she was a lifeline that kept us all connected. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Proko Funeral Home.
