Erich Knautz, 91, of Kenosha passed away on June 16, 2025, at the side of his loving daughter.
Erich was born on July 15, 1933, in Kenosha the son of the late Adolf and Minna (Zeitz) Knautz. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Erich married Irmgard Feld on August 18, 1956, in Kenosha. He was a machine operator at Intermatic Incorporated for 29 years until his retirement in 1998. Erich was a member of the United States Army and served in the Korean era. He was a gentle person who was liked by everyone. Erich was a strong man of faith and a lifetime attender at Kenosha Bible Church. His hobbies included trains, watching all Wisconsin sports, and maintaining his yard but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Sharon (John) Strelecki of Kenosha, Kevin (Tanya) Knautz of WI; sisters, Charlotte (Charles) Gehrand of Union Grove, Dorothy Hermann of Kenosha; sister-in-law, Joan Knautz of Racine; grandchildren, Danielle (James) Takala, Jaclyn (Michael) Kerr; great-grandchildren, Patrick, Matthew, Noah and one on the way; he is also survived by many other friends and family members. Erich was preceded in death by his wife; parents, five infant children brothers, Gerhardt, Richard, and his brothers, Daniel and Martin in infancy; sisters, Ruth and Lillian; brother-in-laws, Robert Hermann, Frederick McEllis “Mack” Enis and Vuin Wallace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for Kenosha Bible Church youth scholarships or to the SPARK program for people with memory impairments.
A visitation will be held at Kenosha Bible Church (5405 67th St, Kenosha, WI 53142) on Saturday June 21, 2025, from 9:00AM-11:00AM with funeral services to follow immediately at 11:00AM. Burial with honors will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
