Duane Junior Sorenson, 95, of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Claridge House.
Born on October 19, 1930, in Eau Claire, WI, he was the son of the late George Thomas and Emily Mary (Lowry) Sorenson. He attended local schools and some college classes in Eau Claire, WI.
He served honorably in the United States National Guard, achieving the rank of Corporal.
In 1950, he married Lorna Britten. They had five children and later divorced. On June 30, 1972, he married June Surprise in Waukegan, IL. They had two daughters together. June preceded him in death on March 7, 2011.
Duane was employed by AMC and Chrysler for 30 years as an assembler until his retirement in 1989.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling, camping, and fishing on Lake Michigan with his family, friends (Whitey and Maynard), and spending time with his friend, Tony. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Chicago Cubs fan. He was also a dog lover.
Duane is survived by his seven children, Lynnette Hoff, Terry (Mary) Sorenson, Scott Sorenson, Michael (Taehee) Sorenson, Karen (Larry Swartz) Sorenson, Ann Sorenson, and Bernadette (David) Ford; seven grandchildren, Kevin, Suzanne, Nick, Jamie, Jeremy, Randy, and Heidi; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Stein; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Harold and Herbert Sorenson; one sister, Ethel Sandvig; one granddaughter, Heather Cruz; his former wife, Lorna Vidas; and the significant other of Scott Sorenson, Barbara Wells.
