Doris E. Algiers, 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Charter Senior Living.
She was born on October 14, 1936 to the late Theodore and Ann (Kubash) Durocher in Ashland, WI. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. She attended Gateway Technical and UW Parkside.
On September 15, 1956 she married Richard “Dick” P. Algiers at St. James Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2022.
Doris worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for the family business Algiers Acoustics for many years and at various businesses until retiring.
Doris was a member of the Red Hat Society Ruby Rascals.
Doris loved going to rummage and estate sales, flowers and loved all animals.
Doris is survived by her children Mark (Patty Hughes) Algiers, David (Alicia) Algiers and Elizabeth (Charles) Hasenohrl, her grandchildren Andrea (Andrew) Brennan, Michael (Colette) Algiers, Brian Algiers and Eric Algiers, two great grandchildren Gisela and Bennett.
She is preceded in death by two sisters Elizabeth Wood and Louise VanKammen and a brother Theodore Durocher.
A Celebration of Life for Doris will be held on Saturday, June 21st at 2:00 p.m. at the Swedish-American Club (7002 – 30th Ave.). Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Swedish-American Club. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the Kenosha Campus of the Wisconsin Humane Society.
