August 17, 1950 – December 28, 2025
Dean P. Thompson, 75, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 28, 2025. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Dean will be deeply missed.
Born August 17, 1950, he was the son of Frank and Beatrice (Quandt) Thompson, the second of 4 sons. He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
On September 4, 1971, he married Virginia Gigliotti, the love of his life, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Together they had three children, of whom he was endlessly proud.
Dean had a passion for sports and relished sharing that love with his family and friends. Golf and baseball were his favorites, and throughout his life, he spent hours engaged in each – playing, watching, attending competitions, and reliving past events. For many years, playing catch while grilling dinner was a perfect evening in his eyes. He recently relived many rounds of golf as he was compiling a list of courses he had the opportunity to play over the years. Attending the Master’s with his son was an unforgettable experience that he talked about for years. Bonding with his children often occurred through a shared love of sports, especially the Wisconsin Badgers.
Dean regularly told his children that they were his greatest accomplishment. He took pride in their successes, and his example is alive in the values and traditions that have been passed on for generations.
He is survived by his three children, Matthew (Tracey) Thompson, Laura (Matt) Allord, and Kristin (James) Barr; six grandchildren, Julianne and Sarah Thompson, Derek and Ryan Allord, and Connor and Brandan Barr; and three brothers, Bruce Thompson, Van (Betty) Thompson, and Mark (Deborah) Thompson.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia.
Private interment will be held in St. George Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Dean be made to: First Tee Golf Development Program or St. Mary Catholic Church.
