David Carl Rumachik, 92, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at Primrose Retirement Community.
David was born on September 6, 1932, in Kenosha, WI, the son of George and Mary (Rupinchuk) Rumachik. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha, graduating from Bradford High School. David married Sharon Haukedahl on January 7, 1956, in Waukegan, IL. He worked for AMC/Chrysler for over 40 years, retiring as a product design engineer. David was a member of the United States Army serving in Korea as a Military Police officer in the 25th Tropic Lightning Division.
God, Family, and Country were the most important things to David. He was a devout Christian his entire life and an active member of the Methodist Church, VFW, and American Legion, until health issues slowed him down. His hobbies included woodworking, hunting, playing cards, playing softball until age 79, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, but most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Debra (John) Streufert of Woodbridge, VA, Jeffrey (Karmen) Rumachik of Mazomanie, WI, Rene’ (Joseph) Best of Salem, WI, 8 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson Peyton, and all siblings and their spouses – Jenny Rumachik (in infancy), George (Delores) Rumachik, Mary (Leo) Jones, Steve (Joyce) Rumachik, Jessye (Mitchell) Urbanski, Annie (Frank) Donahue, Andrew (Hildegard) Rumachik, Paul (Patricia) Rumachik, and Lily (James) Miller.

A memorial gathering will be held at Community Church, 455 S. Jefferson St., Waterford, WI, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, with visitation beginning at 3:00 PM and a memorial service and military honors to follow immediately at 4:00 PM.
