Rev. Daniel J. Brown, 65 years old of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
He was born on August 30, 1960, in Michigan, the son of Gary and Mary Brown.
Dan and Cathy initiated the Lighthouse Community Church, Winthrop Harbor, IL, where he served as Pastor for many years. He was an impactful Pastor and will be remembered for his devotion and service to his congregation. Dan was a wonderful husband and father, and adored his pups, Annie and Charlie. He was also interested in flying and was currently in the process of building an aircraft.
Survivors include his loving partner, Cathy; his mother, Mary Brown; four children, Leah Drake, Paul (Megan) Brown, Eric (Andrea) Brown, and Dan (Lisle) Brown; a brother, Scott (Beverly) Brown; a sister-in-law, Sherry Brown; and grandchildren, Baron, Pierce, Paul, and Grace.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Gary, and his brother Steve.
Memorial visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Lighthouse Community Church, 600 College Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, IL with services to commence at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Lighthouse Community Church in his memory.
