1947-2026
Dale Wayne Kangas, age 79, of Racine, passed away at the Wisconsin Veterans’ Home in Union Grove on March 3rd, 2026. He was born on January 19th, 1947, in Illinois to the late Theodore Kangas and Edna (Warvie) Kangas. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968, where he was awarded a Bronze Star. On July 29th, 1978, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Thomas. The two were happily married for over 47 years at his passing.
Dale loved the outdoors and especially loved hunting. He traveled all over the country hunting deer, black bears, elk, and wild boars. He loved working on various projects throughout his life, and especially his 1968 Chevelle, in which he won many awards. He and his wife spent many years in White Lake, Wisconsin, where they were both very active in the community. Dale had a heart for animals and rescued several rottweilers throughout his life. He was known by many for his witty sense of humor and storytelling. Above all, Dale was a family man and loved his family very much.
Dale is survived by his wife Mary Ann Kangas, children: Melinda (Eric) Sennholz, Steven (Annie) Kangas, Amanda (Brett) Beaugrand, grandchildren: Josh (Claire), Tiffany, Sydney, Hunter, Trystan, Keegan, Kaili, Nickolas and Emilee, several great grandchildren, siblings: Donna Nuttal, Denise (Donald) Lambrecht and David (Diane) Kangas as well as many other living relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Jayden, and sister-in-law, Theresa.
Services for Dale will be held at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (322 Ohio St, Racine, WI 53405) on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026, at 4:30 P.M. A visitation will also be held at the church on the same day from 3:30 P.M. until the time of the service.
