Carol Ann Bruno, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
Born on September 7, 1937, in Kenosha, WI, to the late Mario and Anne (Smith) Brunati. She was a 1955 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha and a 1958 graduate of Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing.
In 1958, she married Robert L. Linn. During their 10 years of marriage, they had two sons and twin daughters.
On February 14, 1970, she married the love of her life, Rodney Peter Bruno, and was blessed with a stepdaughter and one more child. They lived in Kenosha, then Racine, then Burlington, WI.
Carol Ann was mostly a homemaker, wife, and mother, but she worked as a Registered Nurse at several local facilities, and later, as a Lactation Consultant in the birth center in Racine, WI.
Carol Ann had a beautiful singing voice, was an accomplished bowler, and loved dancing with her husband. She was an avid reader and competitive card player.
In 1998, she and Rodney bought a cottage on Brown’s Lake in Burlington, WI. In 2013, they tore down the cottage and built their dream house. The entire floor plan was designed by Carol Ann.
During their life together, Rodney and Carol Ann traveled to Europe and Mexico many times and went on several cruises.
Carol Ann will be remembered for the beautiful homemade holiday wreaths and greeting cards she made for family and friends. She loved butterflies and made sure there was at least one butterfly on all her cards and correspondence.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney; four children, Jeffrey (Marcia) Linn, Roberta (Charles) Lockhart, Rebecca (Cary) Bone, and Mario (Marjorie) Bruno; one stepdaughter, Mishel Bruno; four grandchildren, Steven (Brooke) Linn, Renee Linn, Michelle Lockhart, and Brian Lockhart; three step grandchildren, Christina Davis, Micheal (Morgan) Richey, and Madison (Brandyn) Dahlquist; two great grandchildren, Logan Linn, and Connor Linn; and five step great grandchildren, Marshall Richey, Miles Richey, Bridger Dahlquist, Bella Davis, and Tessa Davis.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beautiful son, Stephen Linn.
Private services will be held at a later date.
