Betty Jane Misch (Machacek), age 97, of Kenosha, passed away on December 18th, 2025, at Robin Way Assisted Living in Kenosha. She was born on May 30th, 1928, in Riverside, Illinois, to the late Jacob Machacek and Betty (Ruzicka) Machacek. On July 8th, 1950, she married Richard Misch in Riverside, Illinois. The two were married for many years before his death in 2010.
Betty was very involved with her community at a number of different organizations, including becoming one of the first women members of the Kiwanis Club of Kenosha and Tucson. She was a strong advocate for children in her community and her own children as well. She was a secretary for the Kenosha Unified School District and retired in 1989 after many years of service. After moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 1996 with her husband Richard, Betty joined the Kiwanis Club of Tucson in 2006. They were both very active in Kiwanis. She served as president, secretary and other leadership positions and remained very active until moving back to Kenosha.
She is survived by her children: Lynn Misch and Lori (Carmine) Bonanno, grandchildren: Jennifer McFadin, Christopher A. (Jana) Misch-Bloxdorf, Nicholas (Carmen) Bonanno, Jacob (Sarah) Bonanno, Elisabeth (Aaron) Korf, Sarah (Ryan) Daams, Katherine Misch and Richard (Erica) Misch, great grandchildren: Justin, Cassidy, Rowan, Eagan, Louis, Isabella, Jonathan and Hannah, a daughter in law: Jeanne Misch as well as many other living relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard A. Misch, son Richard M. Misch, son-in-law Arthur Bloxdorf, and sisters Joanne Sikorski and Libby Haugh.
The family would like to thank Robin Way and Hospice Alliance for all of Betty’s care. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance or Robin Way in Betty’s name are appreciated.
Services for Betty will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery privately.
