Areti T. Stamayannos
January 29, 1940 – October 11, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Areti T. Stamayannos, who peacefully entered eternal rest on October 11, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family.
Born in Vasaras, Greece, on January 29, 1940, Areti carried with her the strength, grace, and warmth of her heritage throughout her life. She was the wife of the late Theodore George Stamayannos, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and family.
Areti’s life was a true reflection of love, resilience, and compassion. Her home was always filled with warmth, the aroma of her delicious Greek cooking, and the sound of laughter from her family and friends. She was proud of her roots, her faith, and above all, her family, which was the heart of her world.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Nektarios Theodore Stamayannos (Maxima) and George Theodore Stamoyannos (Tina); her cherished grandchildren, Areti Nicolette Stamayannos, Ana Areti Jacobsen (Eric), and Theodore George Stamoyannos (Emilie), Alan Robert N; and her precious great-granddaughter, Evanthia Stamoyannos.
Areti’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 O’Plaine Rd., Libertyville, IL, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, where family and friends will gather to honor the beautiful soul who meant so much to so many at 11:00 a.m. Mass will commence at 12:00 noon, and interment will follow in St. John Chrysostomos Greek Monastery Cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, WI.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
