May 31, 1944 – March 6, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arcangela “Angie” M. Montemurro on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Kenosha, WI, on May 31, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Lena (Serpe) Principe. She was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
On May 25, 1973, in Lake County, IL, she married Leonardo Montemurro. Their love story lasted 38 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii Catholic Church and found solace in praying the rosary each and every day.
Angie dedicated more than 30 years of service to G. Leblanc Corporation as a Logistics Coordinator and was an integral part of their shipping and receiving department. She was most appreciative of the leadership at the company that went above and beyond to accommodate her life circumstances over the years.
She found joy in crocheting hats and gloves for her great nieces and nephews to keep them warm in the cold winter months. More recently, she dedicated her time to crocheting blankets that were donated to local charities. Angie also found joy playing cards, bingo, and playing games on her iPad. She greatly valued the time she spent with her family.
In her time at St. Catherine’s Commons, Angie was selected as an Ambassador, enjoyed working at “The Cafe,” and organized many activities for the residents. She quickly formed friendships at St. Catherine’s Commons and enjoyed the many excursions and activities that were planned.
Angie was known for her warm smile and wise words, often comforting those around her with kindness and affection. She had a unique ability to create moments of joy in everyday life, reminding us all to cherish each other and the time we share.
She was loved and will be sadly missed by her cousins, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Leonardo Montemurro; her sister-in-law, Filomena (Giuseppe) Mesoraca; her brothers-in-law, Antonio (Luisa) Montemurro and Francesco Montemurro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the family would be appreciated.
