Annette (affectionately known as Josie) Brantley, age 66, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Annette was born in Kenosha on February 10, 1959, to the late Shelby Lee Brantley and Wynette Green (nee: Holmes-Brantley). She received her education in the Kenosha Unified School System. Annette was a cook in various restaurants, however her most enjoyable placed of employment was being a cook at the Shalom Center, where she had the opportunity to meet families and members in the community.
At an early age she followed her mother and became a member of Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ralph Williams and became an active member of the Choir. Later, she united with New Brighter Day under the leadership of Pastor Jospeh L. Thomas.
Annette’s most rewarding moments in life was being a mom to her two daughters: Nancy Moore of Kenosha, WI and Wynette Day of Racine, WI.
Annette enjoyed cooking and baking. She looked forward to weekends with her grandchildren baking cookies and brownies. She also loved family gatherings and a good party with friends. She wanted everyone around her to have an enjoyable time. Often when she arrived, she would yell LOUDLY (Hey Now, I’m here), signifying that whatever the occasion was, it could officially start because she had made her arrival.
She leaves to cherish her memories Mother: Wynette Green, Children: Nancy (Ardale Reynolds Sr.) Moore and Wynette Day, Grandchildren; NaTa’Jah Burroughs, Ardale Reynolds Jr.,Ar’Ray Reynolds, Ar’Dria Reynolds, Camille Day, William Jedkins; Great-grandchildren; Ernaijah Cardona, Kingston Cardona; Sibling: Linda Rogers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her father: Shelby Lee Brantley, Dad: Joe L. Green Sr.; Brother: Robert Brantley; Sisters: Shirley Ann (Shack) Bradley, Katherine Brantley, and the love of her life L.D. Powell.
We will hold her vibrant spirit in our hearts forever.
