Tuesday, March 5th, 1940 – Saturday, August 30th, 2025
Andrzej J. Kubicki, 85 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital.
He was born March 5, 1940, in Poland, the son of the late Jan and Marianna (Zubrowska) Kubicki. He later came to the United States with his mother and three brothers to join his father in an effort to escape hardships. He was later drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served for two years before his honorable discharge. On September 30, 1967, he married Jadwiga Lechusz in Milwaukee after meeting her in Milwaukee, where they were both members of the Polonia Sports Club.
Andy was employed by MacWhyte for many years before his retirement and later worked for Martin Peterson Company for a short time. He was an avid soccer fan and especially loved supporting UW-Parkside Soccer. He was so proud of his family; he was proud that they finished and furthered their education, and he was remarkably proud of his son’s dedication to the U.S. military for over 20 years. Andy also loved sharing the fact that his granddaughter, Sophia, shared his special quality of having red hair.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 58 years Jadwiga; children, Karolyn (Thomas) Hermes and Adam (Deanna) Kubicki; grandchildren, Andrew, Sophia (Nathan), and Joseph; brothers, Tadeusz (Lynn) Kubicki and Edward (Mary) Kubicki; sisters-in-law, Krystyna Kubicki and Irene Kubicki; and several nieces and nephews – he was especially close with Jacob, Jared, Joshua, and James, and their families who related to Andy in the areas of military service and soccer.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his brothers, Jan Kubicki and Kazimierz Kubicki.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home. Funeral services with Military Honors will commence at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Interment will be held privately in Southern Wisconsin Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove, WI.
