In response to the effects of the government shutdown, the Shalom Center is offering three Pop-Up Food Pantry days:

  • Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm
  • Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm
  • Monday, November 24, 2025, from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm

The Pop-up Food Pantry will take place at the Shalom Center, located at 4314 39th Avenue, Kenosha. Pantry Guests are requested to enter through Door 5, where they will pick up pre-made boxes of food. For anyone new to the Food Pantry, Shalom Center asks that you bring your Wisconsin ID and a recent piece of mail (bill, legal doc, etc.) to complete your registration. These days are in addition to the Food Pantry patrons’ regularly scheduled pantry pick-up days.

“We know many families are stretched to their limits right now, and it can feel overwhelming to meet even the most basic needs. Our hope is that these Pop-Up Food Pantry days help ease that burden and remind our neighbors they are not alone,” said Esther Roberts, Executive Director at Shalom Center.

Shalom Center serves as the only homeless shelter, largest food pantry, and the longest-running nightly meal program in Kenosha County. The mission of Shalom Center is to serve the community by providing emergency food, shelter, and support in ways that meet immediate needs and respect human dignity.

“We always strive to provide healthy, nutritious food to our Food Pantry patrons. We are blessed to have strong community support and amazing food partners,” stated April Guenther, Food Programs Director at Shalom Center. “These additional Pop-up Food Pantry days are really a sign of that community support and dedication.”
