Matt Geary, Founder of Public Brewing Company, hosted their first block party in 2016 outside their former taproom on 58th Street. What began as the grand finale event for Kenosha Craft Beer Week had outgrown its original taproom and was moved outside. Their expansion east in 2019 to the former Barden’s Department Store only meant more space to work with.
“It’s been such a fantastic summer of events with Kenoshans really showing up to have fun and support local,” says Geary, “last year we had to simplify things, so we’re really excited to bring back the full-scale version of our Block Party with all the food, drinks, and live music everyone has come to expect.”
From 11 am to 10 pm this Saturday, October 4th, Public Brewing invites everyone to this free, family-friendly event. They will host six local musical acts performing live on 7th Avenue between 57th and 58th Streets.

Order food from Public Brewing’s kitchen or stop by a food truck for a bite to eat. Grab a beer, cocktail, or Bloody Mary in the taproom or enjoy the wide selection of draft beer and NA options throughout the event. Stop by the vendor market to shop or try one of the many activities being offered that day. Among other things, you’ll find axe throwing, an obstacle course bounce house, and the Hot Mess Studios Art Bus, which will be stopping by for both afternoon activities and an evening black light showcase.
“It’s always exciting to bring the community together to celebrate some of Kenosha’s best local vendors, businesses, and talents,” says Rex Kelly, General Manager of Public Brewing Company, “doing it over good food, quality drinks, and amazing live music is the cherry on top.”
