William “Bill” Hailer, 96, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Detroit, MI, on June 10, 1927, he was the son of the late Friedrich and Grace (Laesch) Hailer.
On June 14, 1959, he married Dorothea Papadogianis in Chicago, IL. Together they lived in Michigan and relocated to Kenosha in 2015.
Bill was an osteopathic and family practice physician for many years and retired in 1992. He was a member of the Osteopathic AOA and MOA, the Trenton, MI Rotary for 40 years, and was active at St. John Chrysostomos Greek Orthodox Monastery. After retirement, he went on to work at the Henry Ford Museum for 20 years in MI, then volunteered at the Kenosha Public Museum on Saturdays.
Survivors include his wife: Dorothea Hailer; a son: William (Kim) Hailer; a daughter: Kathryn Hailer; three grandchildren: Sophia (Zachariah) Swanson, Madeline Hailer, and Samuel Hailer; and four great-grandchildren: Porphyria, Paisia, Panayiotis, and Xenia. He is further survived by loving nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Fred and Faith.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at St. John Chrysostomos Greek Orthodox Monastery, 4600 93rd Street, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow immediately at the on grounds cemetery. Memorial donations to St. John Chrysostomos Greek Orthodox Monastery would be appreciated by the family.
