Walter E. Heflin, 80, of Kenosha, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at his residence.
He was born on July 2, 1942 to the late Philip and Margaret (Mullen) Heflin in Omaha, Nebraska. He was educated in Omaha and graduated from North High School.
On October 25, 1975 he married Susan Brown in Paddock Lake, WI. They were married for 46 years.
Walter worked as an electrician for the union for over 50 years. He was a member of the Racine Electrical Workers Union.
Walter was passionate about researching genealogy, ancestry and enjoyed telling stories about his history. He enjoyed going to his camper up north in the summer, watching westerns, his favorite being John Wayne. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and took pride in all accomplishments of his grandchildren.
Walter is survived by his wife Susan, his children Robert (Shelly) Heflin and Janet (Larry) Smith, his stepdaughter Jonell (Tim) Sullivan, his 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and his brothers Howard (J) Heflin of WA and Joseph (Carolyn Usher) Heflin of Nevada.
He was preceded in death by a stepson John Harrison.
A Celebration of Life for Walter will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13th at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
