Valerie Pierce, 85, of Kenosha passed away on January 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Valerie was born on September 30, 1938, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late John and Rae (Hardgen) Miller. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. She married Peter Petrausky in 1956 and was widowed in 1962. Valerie and Robert Pierce were united in marriage on October 13, 1962, in Kenosha.
While she was primarily a homemaker, she also managed a bookstore on the Northside for many years. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting blankets, especially for the new babies welcomed into the family. She was the MacGyver of cooking. She could effortlessly create a full dinner, no matter what ingredients she had. Valerie was a voracious reader and never passed up an opportunity to curl up in her chair with a book. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren. Valerie was known for her generous love for others, and she made room in her heart for everyone. While we all know we loved Valerie, according to her, she loved you MORE.
Survivors include her children, Donald Petrausky of Waukegan, IL, Ronald Petrausky of Pleasant Prairie, Peggy (Bob) Perroni of Somers, Brenda Pierce of Kenosha, Kristine Goetzke of Oconomowoc; sisters, Gloria (Wilmer) Craig of Sparta and Lavonne Lupi of Kenosha; also included are many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, best friend DeeDee, husband Robert and her brothers, Jimmy, John, and Eddie.
A very special thank you to Melissa for her kind and loving care to Valerie.
