Susan L. August, 77, of Elkhorn, WI, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Golden Years in Lake Geneva, WI. She was born July 19, 1948, in Whitewater, WI, the daughter of the late Henry and Hazel (Blunk) August. Susan worked as a nurse with Lakeland Hospital and served as an EMT with Elkhorn Rescue Squad for 30 years. She also taught EMT classes through Gateway Technical College and for the rescue squad. In her younger years, Susan enjoyed playing the guitar. She loved to attend flea markets and shop at antique malls.
Susan is survived by her four siblings: Michel August, Steven (Gail) August, Jonathon (Fran) August, and Ginger (Mark) Rowe, nine nieces and nephews: Jessi (Shawn) Tyler, Emmy (Mark), Tessa (Mike), Evan, Christopher (Amber), Michael, Lauren, and Ryan (Julia), and six great-nieces and nephews: Asa, Lucy, Heidi, Quinn, Charli, and Scarlette, She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes, 730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, with Pastor Steven Buchanan officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Monday at the funeral home. Private Family Inurnment will be at Millard Cemetery in Sugar Creek Township, WI.
