Sondra Jean Hort, 86, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Parkview Assisted Living, in Racine, WI.

She was born in Kenosha on November 23, 1936, to the late Peter and Ida (Colantonio) Angeli.

On November 29, 1958, she married the late Tom Hort at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Sondra was a freelance writer before becoming employed as a feature writer with Kenosha News. She was also the proud author of her own novel. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Sondra was an excellent bocce player and enjoyed playing in a women’s league.

Sondra is survived by her three children, Thomas (Gina) Hort, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Tamara (Steve) Vendetta of Racine, WI, and Tim Hort of Chicago, IL; and four grandchildren, Brennan Pierce, Audrey Hort, Shelby Hort and Max Hort; and one great grandchild, Amelia Pierce.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Rudy Angeli and Eleanor Perona.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Proko Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until time of prayers at 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church will be held at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
