Robert Emil Hovey, age 75, of Kenosha, passed away surrounded by loved ones at his residence on September 5th, 2024. He was born in Waukegan, IL, on November 28th, 1948, to the late Elmer Hovey and Sylvia (Maki). On May 18th, 1974, he married Ann (Schorn) in Waukegan, IL. He spent most of his early years in Waukegan and later moved his family to Kenosha in 1978. He worked as a bricklayer for various contractors and then transitioned to sales for Columbia Pipe and Koetz and Barton.
He loved golfing in his league, coaching his grandchildren’s t-ball and little league teams and traveling to Sugar Island, MI, Door County and Minocqua. He was a talented artist that specialized in oil landscapes and an accomplished athlete participating in championship football and baseball teams. He was known by many as a friend to all. His most precious memories were always of those spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Ann Hovey, daughter: Jeanne (Rob) Klemp, daughter in law: Jamie Hovey, grandchildren: Aaron, Leah, Nathaniel, Rachel, Noah and Stella, and brothers: Al (Patricia) Hovey, and John (Diane) Hovey, and sister-in-law Carol (Mark) Miller. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Tommy, and son Robert “Bobby” Hovey.

A visitation for Robert will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (8760 37th Ave) in Kenosha on September 11th, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. A service will take place at church the same day at 11:00 A.M. Inurnment of cremated remains will follow the services at St. George Catholic Cemetery.
