Robert (Buzz) E. Busby, age 74, of Salem, WI, and The Villages, FL, died on Wednesday, October 20, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on December 17, 1947, son of the late Virgil and Virginia (Vertz) Busby. On July 18, 1970, in Lake Villa, IL, he was united in marriage to Sharel Hart.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a member of the I Company 75th Rangers/ F Company 52nd Infantry LRRP 1st Division. Member of the Kansasville VFW Post #7924, COOTIES Pup Tent #39, Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter #206 Shawano, WI. Member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Post of Oneida, WI, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 150 Lady Lake, FL.
Robert enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em and golfing. He was the owner of Racine Screen Printing in Racine, WI.
Survived by his wife Sharel. Loving father to Stephanie Busby (Scott Burrell) and Sarah (Tim) Pigo. Grandfather to Taliah and Giuliana Pigo. Brother to Tura (Richard) Siebman, Patrick (Maria) Busby, Betty (Mike) Pasck, Donna (John) Stancil, Doug Welch, and Philip (Bernadette) Welch. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his brother Joseph Welch and sister Laurie Welch and Stepfather Mearl Welch.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday October 25, 2022, at 12:00PM at the Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 620 Legion Dr. Twin Lakes, WI with brother-in-law Deacon Larry Hart presiding. Burial will follow with military honors at Mound Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project. A Celebration of Robert’s life will take place later at The Villages, FL. The Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home of Twin Lakes, WI is honored to serve the Busby family.
