Robert E. Brenner Sr, a longtime resident of Paddock Lake, passed away at home on June 18th, 2026.
Robert was born in Chicago to loving parents Ernest “Pete” and Virginia Brenner. He was raised and schooled in Wheaton. He proposed to the love of his life, Barbara Northrup, in the Jack in the Box drive-through, got married, and started a large family together before escaping the city to their forever home of Paddock Lake. Robert became a pillar of the community and took great pride in his 38-year stint as judge.
He worked for many years at Abbott Labs in Distribution, ran a gas station in Paddock Lake selling Henny Penny Chicken and Mojo Potatoes, and always made sure the family had food on the table. He was always a family man and loved going on fishing trips with his kids, camping at Yogi Bear (with all 6 kids in one pop-up camper!), and going to all his grandkids’ games.
He loved old country music (Willie Nelson especially), fried chicken wings, and loved hosting parties at his house. He was a diehard Packer fan.
Above all, he loved his wife, kids, and grandkids.
Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara; children Bryan Brenner in Arizona, Brent (Diane) Brenner in Silver Lake, Bradley (Jennifer) Brenner in Burlington, Robert (Sue) Brenner Jr. in Florida, Bruce (Amy) Brenner in Pleasant Prairie, and Becky (James) Urban in Bristol. He is also survived by 14 grandkids and his siblings, Michael (Ellen) Brenner and Kathy Mack.
Services for Robert will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (7931 200th Ave, Bristol, WI 53104). Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 9th from 10:30 to Noon with a prayer service (Pastor Dustin Officiating) at Noon.
