Richard John Leopoldt, 69 years old of Salem, WI, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Burlington Health and Rehabilitation Center, Burlington, WI.
He was born April 4, 1956, in West Bend, WI, the son of the late Richard William and Odelia Susan (Zillich) Leopoldt. Rich served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1979. On August 29, 1991, he married Teresa Burmeister.
He enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping, and sitting by the fire were some of his favorite things to do. Rich also liked working on cars and riding his motorcycle. Before retirement, he was employed by Lambs Farm, Libertyville, IL, as a mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Terry; children, Neal Ault, Nicholas (Shannon) Leopoldt, and Jena Leopoldt; his siblings, Victoria (the late John) Degler, Steven (Michelle) Leopoldt, Cynthia (Harry) Esmail, and Debbie (the late Ralph) Kintopp; a granddaughter, Avery Ault; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and brothers-in-law, Rich was preceded in death by a son, Joseph William Leopoldt.
