It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Moreh “Elder” Ervin D. Williams, who left us peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the age of 61, at Aurora Medical Center, Mount Pleasant. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on April 1, 1965, to Bishop James Lee and Lorraine (Miller) Williams. He was a graduate of Tremper High School. He attended Carthage College and earned an Associate Degree in Business. Ervin was the founder of Living Victorious Ministries in Kenosha, WI. He lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, Ervin served his country with pride and dedication, embodying the values of courage and commitment. His service shaped who he was, teaching him resilience and an appreciation for the simple joys in life. Those who knew him understand the sacrifices he made, both during his time in the military and family, and throughout his life.
On May 16, 2008, he was united in marriage to Sandra Briggs in Columbus, OH. In this union, Ervin and Sandra conceived Arie Nava, whom Ervin lovingly called “daddy’s baby.” Ervin and Sandra became best friends and truly enjoyed all of their adventures together. From traveling throughout the United States (especially the southern states) to guiding others through their ministry, they were a guiding light for those who knew them.
Ervin dedicated many years of service working as a Corrections Officer at Southern Oaks Girls School and Racine Correctional Institution, where he carried himself with strength, discipline, and compassion. He also worked as a Quality Control Analyst for Hospira and Abbott Laboratories, taking pride in his work ethic and keen attention to detail.
In his personal time, Ervin enjoyed playing his keyboard and singing for others to enjoy. Ervin was deeply thoughtful and inquisitive. He enjoyed reading about metaphysical studies, consciousness, self-discovery, revelatory teachings, and biblical prophecies. He was known for writing down his thoughts and reflections on anything he could find, from napkins and pieces of mail to countless stacks of index cards, preserving the deep insights that constantly filled his mind. Ervin also had a fascination with gadgets of all kinds and treasured biblical stones such as jasper, amethyst, jade, and carnelian. He enjoyed ordering from Amazon, with packages frequently arriving at his home, always bringing him something new to explore. During his time in the military, he traveled extensively, including to Spain, Italy, France, etc., experiences that broadened his view of the world. Ervin also had a great love for weather and could often be found watching and studying it closely. Sandra would often say he should have been a meteorologist!
Although Ervin faced the challenge of having a stutter, those closest to him understood the depth that existed beyond his words. At times, he worried about how he would be perceived, but when others approached him with love, patience, understanding, and peace, they were often rewarded with something truly special, a golden nugget of wisdom and deeply thoughtful insight. In those moments of genuine connection, Ervin’s spirit shone brightly, his words flowed more freely, and his message carried a profound meaning that touched the hearts of those willing to truly listen.
Ervin will be lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a unique ability to connect with people, leaving a lasting impression that will not soon be forgotten. Whether it was sharing a story over good food or lending a hand in times of need, Ervin was always ready to brighten someone’s day.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Williams; daughters, Arie Williams, Bridgette Walker, and Brianna Collins (GA); sons, Ervin Douglas Williams Jr. (AZ) and Rueben Williams (TX) and Ty Anthony Briggs (OH); siblings, Sandra (Apostle Mark) Webb (WI), Brian (Shakita) Williams (WI), Brenda (Edward) Kelly (GA), and Roz (Matthew) Hardy (WI); grandchildren, Mariah (Davion) Gary (HI), Ariana Williams (NC), Sarai Briggs (OH), Kayden and Kamayah Collins (GA), Cameron Williams (AZ), Laneah, Ruben Jr., and Michael Wiliams (TX); and his special nephew, Cory Webb (GA).
