Dear Friends and Family,
We are writing to share the news of the passing of Mary Ann Niemi on May 4, 2026.
Born on October 28, 1938, in Kenosha to George and Irene (Buer) Collins, Mary Ann was a lifelong resident of the city and a 1956 graduate of Kenosha High School. She enjoyed a long career with the Kenosha Unified School District, eventually retiring as a secretary at Bullen Junior High School.
Mary Ann was a woman of many passions. She was a classy dresser and an avid reader who excelled at word games and enjoyed playing Pinochle and Euchre. A loyal fan of the Packers and the NBA, she also famously enjoyed her weekly Sunday old-fashioned cocktail while residing at Kenosha Senior Living.
She is survived by her son, Jeff; grandchildren, Eric and Amber; and great-grandchildren, Leighton and Mateo. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bruce and George.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the aides and staff at Kenosha Senior Living for their personal care and friendship. We also thank her hospice nurse, Alyssa, and the entire Lily Hospice staff for their dedicated medical care.
As per Mary Ann’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
