Mary Ann was born on May 16, 1934 in Ashland, WI, the daughter of Nels and Amanda (Anderson) Ahlstrom. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1952, and from Mounds-Midway School of Nursing, St. Paul, MN in 1955. She worked as an R.N. for 35 years in Ashland, the Chicago area, and for the Kenosha County Health Department.
On March 15, 1980 she married Tom H. Eggerud at the Baptist Tabernacle Church in Kenosha. They enjoyed many happy, blessed years together, including travels and visits to family and friends in the U.S. and Norway.
She was a member of Baptist Tabernacle where she played piano and organ for many years and enjoyed helping in other areas of ministry, including accompanying the children’s Christmas Musicals for several years.
Her love for music brought her much joy and various opportunities, from early school years and on through life. One special experience was accompanying a Swedish Gospel singer, Winifred Larson, for 1 1/2 years in the U.S. and Scandinavia.
She loved working with children during many of her nursing years, as a Sunday School teacher and doing babysitting.
Along with music, her hobbies included cooking, sewing and handcrafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents, her husband, her brother and sister-in-law, Art and Marion Ahlstrom, a niece, Jody Fisher and a nephew, Kevin Ahlstrom. She is survived by several cousins and many friends.
