Lucinda “Lucy” L. Lannoye, 64, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on May 7, 2026, after a year-long illness.
She was born in Kenosha on May 13, 1961. Lucy was the daughter of Vernon and Joan (Madsen) Lannoye.
Because of her intellectual disability and inability to speak, she led a very fundamental life. Essentially, she was a little girl.
Lucy was educated at home by her family and her special ed teacher, Pat Schultz, who opened up her world to many new things. She watched shows like Sesame Street and absorbed a lot of knowledge. She kept some of that knowledge to herself-it just needed to be brought out. With family and the teacher working with her, they were often surprised by how much she really knew.
Lucy adored music, especially the Beatles and the Beach Boys. She loved rhythm, so she liked to tap to the music.
Lucy never caused any harm or bore any ill will towards anyone. In her own little way, she made her mark on the world by bringing joy to those who loved her and to those who had the chance to get to know her.
Others who knew her found her to be very pleasant and were taken in by her cute ways.
Lucy was innocent, sweet, and content with a family who loved her dearly, their precious baby girl.
Lucy is survived by three brothers: James Lannoye of Somers, Timmy Lannoye of Pleasant Prairie, and Terry Lannoye of Pleasant Prairie; sister and caregiver Cheri Lannoye of Pleasant Prairie; nephew Justin (Shereen) Lannoye; great niece Sophia Lannoye; great nephew Joaquin Lannoye, and thirty-three cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gilbert and Daniel; nephew Joseph Lannoye; cousins Michael Lannoye and Dennis Sanders; and many aunts and uncles.
Bruch Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. She will be entombed at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Services will be privatized
