Lawrence “Larry” F. Valentine, 80, of Kenosha passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 8, 2022 at his residence.
He was born on July 15, 1942 to the late Frank and Gladys Valentine in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Bradford High School.
Larry joined the US Army in 1959. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
Larry married Carol Britt in 1960. She preceded him in death in 2010.
Larry worked at MacWhyte Wire & Rope for 30 years, retiring in 1995.
Larry enjoyed skydiving in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. His wife Carol did one jump with him. He also loved archery and won first place at Kenosha Bowmen. Larry enjoyed hunting in his younger years and motorcycle riding.
Larry is survived by his son Richard (Lynn) Valentine, his grandchildren Sterling Valentine, Holly Valentine, Teagan Valentine and Anthony Valentine and one sister Janis Utterback.
He is preceded in death by two sons Bill and Mark and a sister Cindy Marx.
Funeral Services for Larry will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 1:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home with Full Military Honors will follow. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of service. Private burial at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery will take place at a later date.
