Kenneth W. Michalski, age 68, of Twin Lakes, WI, died on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Froedtert South Hospital in Pleasant Prairie. Son of the late Raymond J. and Helen (Krawczykowski) Michalski, Ken was born in Chicago, IL on New Year’s Day in 1954. Ken worked for Chicago Transit Authority as a bus servicer for 25 years. During this time, Ken and his brother Len started their own business, Gypsy River Fishing Charters. They took fishermen out on the Illinois and Rock rivers and got to share their passion for fishing with others. Ken was part of a rock band called Gorgon Medusa, in which he played lead guitar and wrote songs. In 1993, Ken moved to Twin Lakes, where he worked as a school bus driver for 14 years. Ken was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Twin Lakes and also attended the La Salette Missionaries and Shrine in Twin Lakes. Ken enjoyed traveling with his long-time partner and friend, Karen. They made several trips to Mexico, traveled around the U.S., and completed the Discover Wisconsin Tour. Ken was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Bucks.
Ken is survived by his long-time former partner and close friend, Karen Egolf; step-daughter, Danielle Egolf; step-grandchildren, Lachlan and Wolfgang; and brother, Len Michalski. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Michalski; and aunt Rose and uncle Leonard Lassa.
A mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 1:00PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 701 N. Lake St., Twin Lakes, WI, 53181. Friends and family are also invited to a visitation from 6:30PM until 8:00PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes. Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist Ken’s family.
