Kenneth H. Albert, 98, of Park City and formerly of Waukegan, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
He was born on March 24, 1928, in Kenosha and was a longtime area resident. Ken was a member of Calvary Chapel of Lake Villa. He retired from the Milwaukee Road Railroad that later became Metra as a towerman in Wadsworth, a freight depot in Libertyville, and a ticket agent at many locations after 44 years of service. Ken also worked many years as a security guard for Pinkerton, Burns, Smith & Securitus security companies, reaching the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and site supervisor, and retiring at the age of 80. He worked at Warwick’s as a line supervisor, also. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, fire department for many years.
Ken is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara (nee Tonin) Albert; children, Linda (Craig) Topper of Kenosha, Ralph Albert of Friendship, Peggy Duchac of Florida; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents from Somers, who raised him, Herman and Anna Tabbert; parents, Harry and Ruth Albert; 5 brothers; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Interment will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Somers, Wisconsin.
