Karen L. Kelly (February 20, 1947-May 2, 2023), 76, of Kenosha, WI, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. She died peacefully at Aurora at Home Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa, WI, on Tuesday after a long illness. She was born on February 20, 1947, in Waukegan, IL. She was the daughter of Edward E. Kelly and Virginia “Jean” Kelly. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965. She worked for twenty-five years at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL.

Karen was an avid reader and often recommended good reads to family and friends. She enjoyed completing crosswords. In addition, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and having a good laugh.

Survivors include her sister, Laurel “Laurie” Kelly Burgess; her nieces Sara (Josh) Burgess and Holly Burgess; her great niece and great nephew Evie and Otto Pecha; extended family and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother and father, Edward and Jean Kelly, and her grandmother and grandfather, Marion and Emmett Kelly.

Karen will receive a private family ceremony but no public funeral per her wishes. However, the family would like to thank the medical staff at Aurora Hospice for caring for Karen.
