Karen Jean Jelinek, 65, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Kenosha, on February 24, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Randell “Ike” and Mary (Fraley) Packard.
On August 27, 1977, she married Gary Jelinek in Kenosha.
Karen was employed as an assembler at Chrysler for 33 years and retired in 2008.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, jewelry, and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters.
Survivors include her loving husband, Gary; three children, Mathew (Marissa Kowal) Jelinek, Jennifer (Andy) Ledanski, and Ashley Jelinek; three granddaughters, Scarlet Jelinek, and Sasha and Gianna Ledanski; and two sisters, Diane Pappianne and Elaine Cappozzo. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister in infancy, Sandy Packard.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 31st, at Proko Funeral Home, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Facial coverings and social distancing are required for those attending.
