After a life lived in service to the Lord, CPT Jonathan Helton, age 39, departed this earthly life for his eternal home on Friday, April 17, 2026.
He was born on April 11, 1987, to Lawrence J. Helton Jr. in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, WI.
He was a devoted husband, proud Army veteran, and man of deep and unwavering faith.
He married the love of his life, April Mae, on July 16, 2011, at Wolfenbuttel Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Married 14 1/2 years, their love for one another only grew each day.
Jonathan honorably served his country in the United States Army for 17 years before being medically retired in 2026. Completing tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and Fort Knox, Kentucky. He also attended Marquette University and the UW-Parkside ROTC program, where he was commissioned to become an officer. His courage, sacrifice, and dedication reflected his deep commitment to protecting others and standing for what he believed in.
At the center of Jonathan’s life was his faith in Jesus Christ, which guided him in all things and gave him strength through every season of life. He lived his beliefs through kindness, compassion, and love for those around him.
Jonathan was also a passionate Wisconsin sports fan, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. He found joy in video games, where he could relax, have fun, and connect with friends. Above all, he cherished time spent with the family-the moments that meant the most to him.
Jonathan will be remembered for his bravery, his faith, his goofy sense of humor, his selflessness, and the love he gave so freely. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will live on in the lives he touched.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
