With a profound mix of sadness and a nod to his colorful personality, we announce the passing of John Perry Carr, who was born on November 24, 1952, to parents, Dean and June (Armstrong) Carr. John, a beloved husband, dedicated father, and cherished friend, departed this world peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the age of 73. John was a larger-than-life character known for his loud, boisterous demeanor and unapologetically crass sense of humor. While he might not have been everyone’s cup of tea, those who knew him well understood and appreciated his unique charm.
John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished fishing where he could connect with nature, and he spent countless hours tinkering on various projects, always seeking to learn something new and create something special. He also loved going to Las Vegas, where he relished the excitement and energy of the city.
John was a resident of Kenosha, where he dedicated many years of service to the Racine Water Department.
Despite his sometimes gruff exterior and his general aversion to social niceties, he had a soft spot for the people who broke through his tough shell. His stories, often loud and unapologetically raw, will be missed, as will his unmistakable presence.
On June 22, 2002, John was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nancy Wamboldt Waddle, with whom he shared countless moments of laughter and love. Together, they crafted a life enriched by family and the unbreakable bonds of devotion.
John is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, John Carr Jr., Jamie Carr, Jeremy Carr, Jodi Carr, James Waddle, William (Melissa) Waddle, and his precious puppy, Daisy, who carries forth his legacy of strength and kindness. He leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with joy, laughter, and quiet determination, a testament to his character and the immeasurable impact he had on those around him. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Josephine Johnson, Logan Carr, Jaylee Carr, Jayda Hayes, J’Amerie Hayes, Jurnee Hayes, Jai Hayes, Jhream Payne, Connor Waddle, Carl Waddle, Luca Waddle, Kenzie Waddle, Tate Waddle, Taylor Waddle and Phillip Waddle; siblings, Jacquie Vermillion, Ruth (Dennis) Wamboldt, Les (Nancy) Carr and Mark (Amy) Carr; and sister-in-law, Terry Carr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Bonnie Jean Carr, Katherine Medel, Luther Carr, and brother-in-law, John Vermillion.
As we reflect on John’s life, we can remember him in true Carr fashion and perhaps indulge in some laughter and loud stories, just the way he would have liked it.
