Herbert J. Brooks, 81, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center.
He was born on August 30, 1943 to the late Herbert M. and Laveta (Delaney) Brooks in Necedah, WI.
Herbert entered the US Army on November 16, 1966 and was honorably discharged on November 15, 1972. He served two tours during Vietnam.
On November 22, 1980 he married Judy L. Holst in Kenosha.
Herbert worked at Arneson Foundry, he then worked as an auto mechanic in Antioch and was a welder at Modern Home Products.
Herbert enjoyed working on cars, telling stories, watching old westerns, listen to old country music and making people laugh. Herbert was a kind and loving man who was family orientated.
Herbert is survived by his wife Judy L., his children Kimberly A. (John) Oldham, Virginia (Samuel Monday) Brooks, Amanda (Brian) Rohrscheib, Herbert J. (Amber) Brooks III and Harley W. (Rebecca Hekenberger) Brooks, his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and his siblings Vivian I. Brooks, Robin L. (David) Pence, Barry W. Brooks and Robert L. Brooks.
He is preceded in death by a son Albert M. Brooks and his brothers John and Dwayne in infancy and Sidney W. and Rodney G. Brooks.
Funeral Services for Herbert will be held on Friday, October 18th at 1:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home with Full Military Honors to follow. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
