Glenda Jean Kloet, 88, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Kenosha Place.
Born in Neillsville, WI, on April 7, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Gerhart and Grace (Zimmerman) Schroeder.
On January 15, 1966, she married Douglas Kloet. They were married for 57 years until he passed away in 2023. Glenda worked as a nurse for 17 years at St. Cats Hospital. She then devoted her time to be a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed doing volunteer work for the hospital, meals on wheels, and many other causes. She loved spending her summers up north in Eagle River, WI.
Survivors include her three children, Douglas S. (Michelle) Kloet, Jeffery (Trish) Kloet, and Joyce (Lynn) Thornton; six grandchildren, Allie Kloet, John (Denise) Doan, Korie (James) Orlowski, Michael (Maelyn) Thornton, Robert (Jill) Thornton, and David (Toni) Thornton; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Schroeder; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Cardinali; and a grandson, Kyle Kloet.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to New Life Lutheran Church, 5038 19th Avenue, Kenosha, WI 53144, would be appreciated by the family.
