Delora Claire Edwards English was born on August 23,1934 to Grace (Woodman) and Lewis Edwards. Delora was the oldest of her siblings, Lerita (Robert) McCulloch, Lewis (Laurel) Edwards, and Doug (Ann) Edwards.
Delora married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life Richard Harris English on December 30,1954 at Grace Missionary Church. They had a long and happy marriage that lasted 50 years. They enjoyed travel and their summer home in Door County. There was never a shortage of fun, family or love when they were all together.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren who will miss her greatly, Lorraine (Ed) Goforth, and their sons Joe (Kimberlee) Goforth and Bart (Robyn) Goforth; Dana English, and her daughter Jessi (Ryan) Haggberg, and sons Harrison and Porter; Mitchell (Chelsea) Kaas and son Carter; Marie King (deceased) and her children Sophie King and Kenneth King; Rita (Don) Schott and their sons Jordan (Bailey) Schott, Taylor (Briana) Schott and Evan Schott; Ric (Jami) English and their sons Elliott (Chrystel) and sons Kayden, Ezekiel and Luca; Grant (Kristin) English. Richard and Delora’s youngest daughter Kathi Dee passed into the arms of Jesus at aged 6.
Delora was an amazing prayer warrior. She prayed daily and deeply for all of her family. She also valued her lifelong friendships with her “Club” friends who met monthly through the years. All who knew Delora were drawn to her kindness and beauty. She was very involved in the music ministry at her church, Grace Missionary Church. She served willingly and worked for many years in Awana.
Delora is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her daughter Kathi Dee, her granddaughter Marie King, her sister and brother-in-law Lerita and Robert McCulloch, her sister-in-law Connie Birky Edwards and her parents Grace and Lewis Edwards.
A Memorial Service for Delora will be held on Friday, December 1st, 2023 at First Christian Church (13022 Wilmot Rd Kenosha 53142) at 11:00am.
