Carole H. Robbins (née Englund), passed away on February 9th, 2024. She was born on December 12th, 1938, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Leonard and Alice Englund.
One of Carole’s passions was cultivating orchids, a hobby that brought her immense joy and satisfaction. Her green thumb and nurturing spirit were evident in the vibrant blooms that filled her home. She was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church for many years.
Throughout her life, Carole experienced love, loss, and resilience. She was married three times, first to John W. Rohde in 1957, with whom she shared many cherished memories. Though their paths diverged in 1973, Carole approached life with resilience and grace. In 1979, she married Walter Stein, and despite their eventual parting in 2000, Carole remained steadfast in her commitment to finding happiness and fulfillment.
In 2000, Carole found love once again when she married George Robbins. Though their time together was brief, their bond was deep and meaningful. George passed away the same year they married.
The last 20 years of her life Carole suffered from an Alzheimer’s type of Dementia that sadly and progressively took her memory. She now is at rest.
Carole is survived by her son, John C. Rohde of Tulsa, OK, her grandchildren Jeremy (Deekenna Chowen) Rohde of Sturgis, SD and Jennifer Rohde-Scholla of Las Vegas NV and great grandchildren, Isla, Holland and Lilly, and the many friends she made throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by all who had the chance to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronald Englund, and her son Glenn Rohde.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Carole’s family would like to thank the caring and loving staff at Azura Memory Care where during the eight years she lived there they showed her compassion and amazing care.
