Carol L. Salanda, age 83, of Burlington, Wisconsin, passed away on June 24, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center – Burlington. She was born on May 9, 1943, in New London, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herbert and Bernice (nee Glocke) Marasch. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle presence touched the lives of many.
Carol graduated from Jefferson High School. Following graduation, she worked for the State in the Taxation Dept in Madison. On June 30, 1979, she was united in marriage to David Salanda in Fort Atkinson. Her professional life included years of service at Hoard’s Dairyman Magazine in Fort Atkinson and later at the law firm of Lloyd, Phenicie, Lynch and Kelly in Burlington. She remained dedicated to her work until her retirement in 2006.
Carol had a number of interests that brought her happiness throughout her life. She was an avid reader who enjoyed the comfort and companionship found in a good book. Gardening was another of her favorite pastimes, and she also enjoyed visiting with her friends from her graduating class.
Family was at the center of Carol’s life. She is survived by her husband, David Salanda; her children, Jennifer (Jim) Bellweg and Paul (Kris) Chadwick; and her grandchildren, Emily and David. She also leaves behind her siblings, Joyce (Barry) Banerdt and Kim (Clint) Carlberg, as well as her sister-in-law, Pearl Marasch. Carol is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Karen (Donald) Mepham and John “Jack” Marasch.
A funeral service for Carol will be held at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on July 2nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
