Branka Milanović, 77, of Kenosha, passed away of natural causes on Monday, February 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Branka was born on July 24, 1944 in Šarenik, Serbia to the late Natalija and Milisav Vasilijević. On November 29, 1962, she married her beloved Milijanko (Šole) Milanović and together they immigrated to Kenosha, Wisconsin in 1967 to build a better life for their family. Milijanko preceded her in death on November 29, 2011.
Branka was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many in her community. Branka was employed at Frost Company for 25 years and later by Kenosha Brookside Care Center until her retirement in 2007. She was a hard worker with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She was a consummate gardener, producing bountiful vegetables and gorgeous flowers around her home. She was an excellent cook and baker, generating enormous amounts of delicious pastries, bread and traditional Serbian food, always preparing food for her family and friends. She enjoyed frequent travels back to her home in Serbia where she had extensive family and friends. More than anything, Branka loved her family. Her biggest sources of pride and joy were her six grandchildren whom will all sorely miss her abundant love and warmth.
Branka is survived by family and friends across the world whom she loved and adored. She leaves behind three daughters: Vesna (Radoslav) Savic, Rada Preston, Lilly Milanovic (Lorne Pinto) and six grandchildren: Ivana Savic-Grubisich (Nicholas Grubisich), Dijana Savic-Jambert (Marc Jambert), Alex and Peter Preston, Luka and Nino Pinto.
Funeral Services for Branka will be held on Thursday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sava Monastery (32377 IL-21 Libertyville). Interment will follow at St. Sava Monastery Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
