Betty L. Istvanek, 84, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 15, 2026, at her residence.
She was born on May 6, 1942, to the late Charles and Esther (Sherbert) Wood in Racine. She was educated in the schools of Racine.
On September 3, 1960, she married George E. Istvanek in Racine. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2024.
Betty enjoyed baking, cooking, animals, country music, puzzle books, going to casinos, and taking drives in the country. She loved being involved with her children’s and grandchildren’s sports activities and family gatherings.
Betty is survived by her children, Lori (Bill) Low, George Istvanek Jr., and Ruth (Randy) Thiesfeld; her grandchildren, Steven Moss, Jordan Winters, Noah (Ilza) Winters, Connor Thiesfeld, and Carter Thiesfeld; her great-granddaughter, Paisley Winters; and her grand pup, Sully.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Goldie, Harold, Edward, Bertha, Martha, Mary, James, Evelyn, John, Daisy, William, and Gladys.
Funeral Services for Betty will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank Aurora Home Healthcare and Aurora Hospice for their loving and compassionate care given to Betty.
